Meet the teacher:

Welcome to my page! My name is Mrs. Banta and this is my ninth year at FBISD and my seventh year to teach 5th grade ELAR. I am a native of Corpus Christi, and though I did not attend Flour Bluff for school, I got here as quickly as I could.

I received my bachelors degree in Communication, with a minor in Public Relations. I also have a masters degree in Early Childhood Education. My certifications include EC-6, ESL, Special Education, and Gifted and Talented.

I have an amazing husband and an incredible and unique 8-year old son. Being a mom is my favorite thing in the world. My husband and I are foster parents and are blessed with extra kiddos to love. We love attending church, taking trips to the aquarium, hunting, being around family, and relaxing on our back porch watching beautiful sunsets. We are outdoor people and enjoy the sunshine, but we both agree this south Texas heat could give us a break now and then.

I am passionate about serving children in my community and helping them to grow educationally. My firm belief and acknowledgment is that your child will not always be a child and will need to be equipped to be a successful adult who contributes to our society. I am honored to have a hand in that. We all have something to give, and I am blessed to be a facilitator in that process of growth and success.
