FBJH Art 1 and Art 7
Welcome to my art classroom website!
These classes are designed to enhance your motor skills, thought processes and imagination. You will be challenged, but rewarded if you work hard. Students should come to class with a determined mindset, ready to push themselves.
About Art 7
Art 7 is for 7th grade students and will only meet for one semester. We learn about the basic Elements of Art and the Principles of Design. It is a fun, fast paced class where we explore many different mediums of art! Get ready to try different things and use your imaginations!
About Art I
Art I is for 8th grade students only. Art I is a high school credit course for Fine Arts. This class is an in depth study of the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. We move at a very fast pace and the students are held to the same level of rigor that the high school sets for the Art I studio. Homework assignment almost every week to practice new art styles.
This means it is very important for you to keep up with your sketchbook assignments and project progress. This grade will be your first grade on your high school transcript and will be seen by colleges when it is time for college applications!

Meet the teacher:
I was born in Thailand and moved to California when I was young. I joined the military then traveled until I made Corpus Christi my home in 2010. I graduated from Texas A&M Corpus Christi in 2016 with a Bachelor in Fine Arts with a teaching certificate, and a minor in Communications.
Previously, I worked as a pre-student teacher in middle school at Browne then a student teacher at the elementary campus of Flour Bluff working with Mrs. Tyler then worked under Mrs. Lichtenberger and Mrs. Walker at Flour Bluff High School. I also was a substitute teacher at Flour Bluff ISD, subbing right after I had fulfilled my duties as a student teacher until the school year ended. I then worked as a second-grade teacher at Salazar Elementary in Alice, TX for two years.
I am a widow, with no children, so my students are my children.
I love traveling, fishing, video gaming, Asian dramas, Anime and creating art!
I love teaching art because in learning different mediums in art, you have many avenues to express yourself when words fall short.
When life hands you lemons, you can draw how that lemon makes you feel or you can draw what you see when you look at the lemon.
Life is too short to live with regrets and pain.
Express yourself!
