Jesus the Worker Food Pantry
The Catholic Chamber has adopted Jesus the Worker Catholic Church Food Pantry as our official charity.
We have met the good sisters who run the pantry and are confident that every penny we donate will go directly to buy food and not to administration, as often is the case with other charities.  Anyone wishing to visit them are welcomed.

We are asking our members to pray about making a monthly donation of any amount directly to the church.  Please make checks payable to Jesus the Worker Catholic Church.

Located in a very poor area, their parishioners have little money to put in the Sunday collection basket.
In the words of Sr. Yarineth Barria from her thank you letter to our chamber:
"On behalf of our unfortunate poor brothers and sisters in Christ, I would like to thank you for your generous contributions. Your financial support will help us to continue our mission to serve our needy brothers and sisters that are impoverished.  Please accept our most sincere gratitude and thank you for your support.  May God reward your kind heart and bless you. Sincerely,Sr. Yarineth Barria"

Please come to the next meeting so you can pick up Chamber directories to distribute at your offices, friends, family and church clubs.  Keep in mind this is more than a business chamber, you are a part of a ministry to help spread our faith, values and blessings.

Life Walk will take place on December 5th at Jaycee Park in Cape Coral.  It is a fun filled morning, in which we walk three times around the park to remember the aborted babies of America and the babies and mothers that live at Lifeline.  It is a family event starting with continental breakfast at 7:45 AM and the Walk will take place at 8:45 AM.  There will be face painting, a scavenger hunt, prizes and live band. It is a fund raiser for our missions.  What we do is to get people to sign up donors that will pledge dollars for those people to do the walk.  Some people ask for $1.00, $5.00, or more per trip.  I just ask for whatever people would like to give.   If the Chamber could get some walkers, and they in turn could get a few donors we would have a very successful day. If people would pledge just a dollar or two and we got many to participate we could help Lifeline reach it's goal of $50,000.  If anyone doesn't want to walk, but would be willing to pledge something I will gladly walk for them.  I will have sign up sheets for walkers and their donors in the next week or two, and would be happy to send them out to any Chamber member who would like one.  If there is anything else you need, or if you have any questions please let me know.
