Final Project - Earth Science

posted Dec 9, 2018, 11:57 AM by Tiffany Floria

This week there will not be a planner for the week, as for this week and next - students will be working on an in-class final project for Earth Science. This is a choice project, where students will have the option to create one of three final products:

- Diorama with written Paper
- Story Book
- Tri-Fold Poster

Students will have the opportunity to work individually, or in groups of 2 or 3. As working in groups is a SHARED grade, if students choose to work with partners, they must obtain a signed permission slip from all parents from all members of the chosen group. If permission is not received by all members of the group, they will not be allowed to work in a group. Any student working within a group will be required to complete a "self & group evaluation" at the end of the project to identify their role in the project.

I have attached the requirements of the project that students will be receiving on Monday, as well as a timeline. Students will be given substantial class time to complete the assignment, however, should students choose to not use that time appropriately, time at home may be required.

The final DUE DATE for this Project is Thursday, December 20th.

This project wraps up our discussions of the 7th grade Massachusetts Earth Science Standards. Upon returning to school after the holiday break, we will begin the Physical Science Standards, starting with the topic of Energy.

posted Nov 23, 2018, 7:17 PM by Tiffany Floria

I highly recommend this book to prepare for the 8th grade MCAS exam - and to help you be successful in 7th & 8th grade science. You will also find that there is lots in there that will help you when you start in Biology in 9th grade too! Check it out! It is available at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and other places where books are sold. I do have my copy in the classroom for kids to use in class, however I only have the one copy :( Click the image to check out the book on Barnes & Noble...
