The Florence Twp. Education Foundation, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, was formed in mid- 2016 with the support of the Florence Twp. Board of Education and the district’s superintendent. (Although the Foundation has the district’s support, we operate independently.) The Foundation was modeled after other local education foundations, such as the Delran Education Foundation and the Millstone Education Foundation; both of which have provided significant financial support to their respective districts.
Why an Education Foundation
New Jersey schools face constant funding challenges. While operating costs are increasing rapidly, government funding is decreasing. With such tight resources, school districts are often unable to fund the kinds of innovative programs that would develop and enhance skills necessary for success in the 21st century.
In order to combat these financial strains, the Foundation raises money from local businesses, corporate sponsors, parents, alumni, and other supporters throughout the community. These contributions are used to support educationally sound, cutting-edge programs designed to better prepare Florence students for the rapidly-changing world.
