Pictures of Yesterday
Cities of Seminole County
There are many ways history can be recorded.
This being in the standard written format, monuments, and photographs.
Photography had its early beginning in the mid 19th Century, and played
an important role in chronicling the events of the American Civil War or
The War of Rebellion. Thus depicting the battle field scenes showing
the victor, as well as the loser. In relationship to written vs photographic
history, photographs don't lie or stray from the truth.
Therefore a photographic history, with bylines will provide accurate details of a community, county, state, or nation; will
provide an in depth look at the actual events that took place in certain
areas as they evolved into their present state of being. Originally
Sanford, Florida was part of Orange County until present day Seminole County
was created by the Florida Legislature in 1913. After this new county
was created, Sanford became its county seat.
The intent of this page to compliment each
of the cities of Seminole County, regarding their historic growth in this
new Twentieth County. To be compliant with the page title, I'd like
to have pictures and a written byline regarding the submissions for each
of the above listed cities.
