Florida Federal census records begin in 1830 and continued every ten years thereafter. Currently they are available through 1930, except the census of 1890 which was completely burned in a 1921 warehouse fire.
Florida State census records begin in 1845. There are six sets of Florida State census records in existence: 1845, 1855, 1867, 1875 (all incomplete) and 1935 and 1945. The Florida state census was abolished in 1949.
There are many good records on the Jackson County censuses on-line (thanks to many fine volunteers). If you know of other helpful census links to Jackson County, please email the Jackson County Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org for additions to this page.
