The Sudbury Spring Sprint Triathlon with its pool swim and relatively short bike and run courses just seems to attract everyone from first timers to Olympians. This ever popular race sells out quickly so sign up early if you want to be a part of it.

For safety reasons, all athletes must be at the race venue by 8:00 AM no matter what their swim start time.
The Race Course
The bike is a 3.5 mile loop that is pretty flat. You do the bike loop twice before heading off on the run which includes some quality time on a nice dirt running path.
Come to race, but stay for the festivities. Your triathlon experience includes a DJ playing great music, yummy post race treats, and sponsor giveaways.
Standard USA Triathlon age group divisions in five year increments are employed for this event, for example: 30 to 34 years, 35 to 39 years, etc. Age group is determined by age as of December 31, 2014. There is a Clydesdale category for men who weigh 220+ pounds and an Athena category for women who weight 150+ pounds. Also there is a relay category which consists of 1 swimmer/ 1 biker/ 1 runner.
Awards are given to the top three finishers in each age group, and in the Clydesdale and Athena divisions, and to all three members of the top male relay team, top female relay team, and mixed relay team. And a random award or two may be given out at the race director's discretion.
This race is a USA Triathlon Sanctioned Event managed by a USA Triathlon Certified Race Director. All athletes either must present a valid USA Triathlon annual membership card at registration or purchase a single day USA Triathlon license, no exceptions. Single day licenses may be purchased for $12 during the registration process. If you are planning to do at least three USA Triathlon sanctioned events in a one year period then you might want to purchase an annual membership from USA Triathlon for $45. Race Site Bike Mechanic and Support
Fitwerx from Peabody, MA is the race site bike mechanic and on course bike support fort his event. Mike will be available at the Fitwerx tent prior to the race to help with minor bicycle maintenance, and will be on the bike course for on the road mechanical support.

Sudbury Park and Recreation Department offers a comprehensive and varied program of public recreation activities, services, and resources for residents. Programs are self-sustaining and offer an opportunity for quality use of leisure time in a productive and healthy manner. Recreation facilities include the Atkinson Pool, Fairbank Community Center, toddler playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, sand volleyball court, outdoor skating area (weather permitting), and fields for baseball, field hockey, lacrosse, softball, and soccer. Major recreation areas include Davis Field, Frank G. Feeley Field, and Haskell Recreation Area.
USA Triathlon rules apply. The most commonly violated rules are drafting, blocking, and crossing the center line of the road. To avoid a drafting penalty, stay at least three bicycle lengths behind the rider in front of you and complete any pass within fifteen seconds. If you are overtaken, you must drop back three bicycle lengths before attempting to pass. To avoid a blocking penalty, ride to the right of the road except when passing other competitors. To avoid a center line penalty, do not cross the center yellow line of the road.
Helmets with the chin strap fastened are required whenever you are on your bike. Bar end plugs are required on handlebars and aero bars; taping over the bar ends is not permitted. Head phones and music players are strictly prohibited.

Refund & Exchange Policy
No refunds will be made if an event is cancelled due to circumstances beyond the race director's control such as but not limited to inclement weather, unsafe racing conditions, or the decision of town administrators or safety personnel. Entries would be moved to the following year's event. Events may be changed in distance or event nature for safety or other reasons at the discretion of the race director.
All refunds requested two weeks prior to event will be honored less a $25 dollar processing fee.
Exchanges to other FIRM events will be granted up to the week before the event.
Any requests made the week of the event are not subject to refunds or exchanges.
