About the 8th Annual Sheriff's Sprint Triathlon

Year after year, as the first triathlon of the season in this region, the Randall Boys & Girls Club Triathlon lets triathletes of all levels test out their early season fitness in a fun and competitive environment.

The Race Course

The swim is up and down the 6 lanes of the pool for a total of 300 yards. It's a time trial start with swimmers sent off one at a time. Your swim start time is based upon the estimated time that you put down on your registration form. Please try to be as accurate as possible with your estimated swim time.

The bike route meanders through Ludlow. It goes from Claudia's Way to Sportsman Road to Chapin Street to Center Street to Miller Street to Chapin Street to Sportsman Road to Claudia's Way and back to the Boys & Girls Club.

The run course goes through a few neighborhoods. It goes from Claudia's Way to Sportsman Road to Chapin Street, Crossover Chapin Street to Center Street, to Stivens Terrace, to Mountain View to Parkview to Chapin back to Sportsman Road to Claudia's Way. USA Triathlon Rules

USA Triathlon rules apply. The most commonly violated rules are drafting, blocking, and crossing the center line of the road. To avoid a drafting penalty, stay at  least three bicycle lengths behind the rider in front of you and complete any pass within fifteen seconds. If you are overtaken, you must drop back three bicycle lengths before attempting to pass. To avoid a blocking penalty, ride to the right of the road except when passing other competitors. To avoid a center line penalty, do not cross the center yellow line of the road.

Helmets with the chin strap fastened are required whenever you are on your bike. Bar end plugs are required on handlebars and aero bars; taping over the bar ends is not permitted. Head phones and music players are strictly prohibited.
