The Race Course
The race begins with a 1.8 mile run, followed by a mountain bike ride on the trails of Ashland State Park. The mountain bike course includes some single track and ahttps://sites.google.com/a/firm-racing.com/home/rockbuster-offroad-duathlon-9-00-a-m-start few hills--enough to make it interesting but not too technical. Then it's a repeat of the run course back to the finish line.
After racing, stay for more fun. Your Rockbuster Duathlon experience includes a DJ playing great music, yummy post race treats, and sponsor giveaways.
Earn entries to win a Quintana Roo Seduza or a Quintana Roo Dulce triathlon bike when you participate in F.I.R.M. events in 2012. Plus you get additional entries if you place in the top three in your category. Two winners (one male, one female) will be selected from the entries at the end of the race season. The male winner will be awarded the QR Seduza, and the female winner will be awarded the QR Dulce.
Standard USA Triathlon age group divisions in five year increments are employed for this event, for example: 30 to 34 years, 35 to 39 years, etc. Age group is determined by age as of December 31, 2012. There is a Clydesdale category for men who weigh 200+ pounds and an Athena category for women who weight 150+ pounds. Also there is a relay category for two person teams.
Awards are given to the top three finishers in each age group, and in the Clydesdale and Athena divisions, and to all three members of the top male relay team, top female relay team, and mixed relay team. And a random award or two may be given out at the race director's discretion.

Triathlon Training and Coaching
Ashland State Park has 470 acres including the 157 acre Ashland Reservoir. The park is operated seasonally and provides opportunities for swimming, picnicking, boating, fishing, bicycling and hiking.
Note: The Ashland State Park is closed and will be open from 7-11 AM only the day of the event. All vehicles must be removed by 11 AM or they will get locked in.
Ashland State Park is located west of Boston in eastern Massachusetts. From North or South, take route 495 to "Main Street" Hopkinton exit. Continue east on Main Street. Before Hopkinton Center, route 135 comes in on the left. Follow route135 east approximately three miles to park. Entrance is on the right.

USA Triathlon rules apply. Helmets with the chin strap fastened are required whenever you are on your bike. Bar end plugs are required on handlebars and aero bars; taping over the bar ends is not permitted. Head phones and music players are strictly prohibited.

Refund & Exchange Policy
Participants may receive a refund of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee if they cancel their registration at least 7 days before the event takes place. Entries to a FIRM event may be changed to another FIRM event in the same season if notification of the change is made at least 7 days before the event takes place.
All requests for refunds or exchanges must be made in writing. Email requests to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you do not receive a confirmation of the request within 24 hours of making the request, forward your original request to email@example.com. Save the confirmation for your records.
No refunds will be made if an event is cancelled due to circumstances beyond the race director's control such as but not limited to inclement weather, unsafe racing conditions, or the decision of town administrators or safety personnel. Entries would be moved to the following year's event. Events may be changed in distance or event nature for safety or other reasons at the discretion of the race director.
