About the Wayside 5 K Run
In 1995 Wayside hosted their first 5k road race. The “Wayside/401 Run For Fun” benefited the Marlborough D.A.R.E. program, raising over $20,000.00 in its first ten years. In 2004, the race began benefiting the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Scholarship Fund. In the five years since, the race has raised nearly $30,000.00 for scholarships for students from our surrounding communities. The “Forrest Memorial Road Race” moved to Wayside in September of 1996 and in that time, has raised well over $150,000.00 for Greater Marlborough Programs Inc.

Come to race, but stay for the festivities. Your race experience includes a DJ playing great music, yummy post race treats kegs of beer and sponsor giveaways.
Race Divisions and Awards
Awards are given to the top three finishers in each age group, and in the Clydesdale and Athena divisions, Male and Female Walkers.

Triathlon Training and Coaching
Vmps, the official triathlon training & coaching organization for the F.I.R.M. Race Series, can help you achieve your endurance sports goals. They offer open water swim clinics, an open water swim training race series, coached swim workouts, a time trial series, sports nutrition services, and personal coaching services for beginners through elite. Their triathlon training center in Millbury, Ma includes a cycling studio and retail store with bikes, wetsuits, wetsuit rentals, triathlon clothing, triathlon gear, and sports nutrition products. Plus their triathlon team provides a welcome opportunity for like-minded folks to train and race together. With their combined offerings, Vmps provides you with everything you need for your multisport lifestyle.
Set in a convenient location midway between Boston and Worcester, Marlboro is easily accessed by the Mass Pike and route 495. And there is plenty of parking at the race venue.

ChampionChip Timing SystemsChampionChip Timing Systems is used to time this event. A timing chip attached to a black velcro strap is provided in each competitor's race bag. The timing chip must be worn on the left ankle at all times during the race for an official race time to be recorded. Return the timing chip to a volunteer at the finish line to avoid the $30 replacement fee. Race results are posted at the race venue, and on www.firm-racing.com and www.coolrunning.com.

No refunds will be made if an event is cancelled due to circumstances beyond the race director's control such as but not limited to inclement weather, unsafe racing conditions, or the decision of town administrators or safety personnel. Entries would be moved to the following year's event. Events may be changed in distance or event nature for safety or other reasons at the discretion of the race director.
