The Ashland Sprint Triathlon has it all. Scenic race courses. Varied terrain. Enthusiastic volunteers. And it is put on by the most experienced race production company in the sport's history.
The Ashland Sprint Triathlon runs concurrently with the 23nd Annual Ashland Metro West Triathlon (Olympic distance) with transition areas adjacent to one another.
The swim takes place in a placid reservoir surrounded by a pretty forest. Many participants say it is one of the prettiest open water swims around. The bike course is a single loop course through Hopkinton and Ashland with some nice hills, and includes a section on the famous Boston Marathon course. (The town of Ashland was where the original Boston Marathon had started). Bike support is provided by Fitwerx. The run is an out and back course along scenic roads and rolling terrain.

If you are overtaken, you must drop back three bicycle lengths before attempting to pass. To avoid a blocking penalty, ride to the right of the road except when passing other competitors. To avoid a center line penalty, do not cross the center yellow line of the road.
Helmets with the chin strap fastened are required whenever you are on your bike. Bar end plugs are required on handlebars and aero bars; taping over the bar ends is not permitted. Head phones and music players are strictly prohibited.
