FIRA Robot World Congress and Cup 2010 will be held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Bangalore Campus.

The Campus of Amrita School of Engineering is situated in the cool environment of Bangalore in the limits of Varthur Hobli in Bangalore South. The campus is well developed with greenery cover and internal roadways to render the atmosphere ideal for learning. The spawling Campus of the Institute is located just of the fully developed area of Koramangala, HSR Layout and Sarjapura Road, about 14 kms from Vidhana Soudha and 17 kms from Majestic Bus Terminus.
The picturesque campus more than 40 acres is well connected by BMTC buses plying right upto the institute's gate from city center places like Majestic & City Market. The buses towards sarjapura will bring you to Kaikondanahalli, 2 kilometers from Kaikondranahalli bus stop on Hosa Road leads to the beautiful campus. The Institute can also be accessed from Hosur Road about 5 kms before the Electronic City via Hosa road.
Note: Please note that the Amrita Campus (the FIRA venue) strictly follows a No-Smoking policy and Non-Vegetarian food is not allowed. Non-Vegetarian food is made available at the FIRA Food Stall approximately 30 meters from the Amrita Main Entrance as indicated in the venue map. Delegates and students are requested to consume non-vegetarian food at the FIRA Food stall.

Information / Message Board: The information/ Message Board will be located near the Registration Desk. Messages will be posted in this area throughout the congress.
Name Badges: All attendees must wear their name badges at all times to gain admission to all conference sessions, exhibits and receptions.
Currency and Credit Cards: The unit of Indian currency is Rupee. Foreign currency and traveler's checks can be exchanged into Indian Rupee at foreign exchange banks and other authorized money exchangers. Credit cards, including VISA, American Express, Diners Club and Master Card are accepted at major hotels, department stores, and large restaurants. The exchange rate is subject to fluctuation.
Electricity: In India the electrical specifications are 230 volts 50 Hertz. Always check the power supply before using the equipment.
Climate: Bangalore is relatively dry climate. The average annual temperature is around 11.4°C, during the month of August is around 24.9°C.
Food: The FIRA food stall that serves both Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian food is located approximately 30 meters from the main gate of the Amrita Campus. A vegetarian-only canteen is located behind the conference venue. The FIRA Food Stall shall serve food only up to 9 pm. All payments are to be made in Indian Rupees.
Taxi from Airport: The Bangalore International Airport has a fleet of metered MERU Cabs that can be used to come from the airport to the FIRA Competition & Conference venue, or to any hotel in the city. Please carry a map of your destination, so that it can be conveyed properly to the taxi drivers.
Taxi within the City: Delegates can approach the Information & Travel Desk near the FIRA registration counter to request for taxis from the FIRA Venue.
International Calling Booths: Two International Calling Booths are made available at the ground floor of the FIRA Conference venue. Payments for all calls are to be made in Indian Rupees.

Accommodation: Halcyon - Located at the plush Koramangala Township, Halcyon provides a clean, calm, and luxury business atmosphere. It is 20 minutes by Taxi to the FIRA venue. Bus Transportation between Halcyon hotel and the FIRA Venue will be provided for participants in the morning and evening.
Social Event: Congress Banquet - Thursday, September 16 at 19:00-21:00 PM at the Halcyon Hotel. Banquet will open with congratulatory addresses of General Chair and FIRA President. Program chair will report on technical program and paper statistics. An Indian traditional dance performance is planned during the dinner. International food is served in full course and vegetarian food is also available at the banquet.
