(on the FHS athletic page...sign up) Welcome 2018 Boys Tennis Players! Practice Starts Monday 8/20 from 3:00 to 5:00pm Our first match is Sept 6, please check the SPSL Boys Tennis 2A website for the current schedule at spslathletics.com Practice starts August 20 Please bring a racquet, non marking tennis shoe or any kind of court shoe or cross trainer, wear shorts with pockets and any kind of t-shirt is ok for practices. Also, you may want to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, hat and water to practices. We will discuss uniform shirts later, but black shorts with pockets will be required as part of our uniforms. Please purchase at local sports stores if you do not already have the shorts. You must have 10 practices in before you can play! First match is Thursday Sept. 6. Looking forward to a great season! I hope to teach tennis skills in order for players to effectively compete with other high schools and also represent FHS with a competitive spirit, knowledge of the game, fair play, and respect. It is my hope that these young tennis players will enjoy playing tennis for years to come and learn to set goals, and strive to achieve these goals both as an individual player and as a team member. Mark Schelbert Coach Schelbert is a History Teacher and Varsity Basketball Coach at FHS. He has assisted in coaching tennis for the last 13 years for both boys and girls. He brings a high level of energy and teaches the athletes to train hard to become more competitive and conditioned players.
