This year we will strive to become thoughtful and confident problem solvers.  Sometimes math can be a challenge, but challenges offer growth.  Whenever you work hard to overcome a challenge you are building strengths like grit, tenacity, and perseverance that will serve you for the rest of your life.

Here are a few suggestions that will help you to be a successful math student:
  • Be engaged and involved in your own learning.
  • Work hard and do your homework.
  • Don't fall behind.
  • Keep a positive attitude.
  • Know that there will be days when the math will be a challenge.
  • If you get stuck, ask for help.  I will help.  Your friends will help.  We should all be willing to help each other.

Mrs. Sagorski's factoid of the week:
I love this cartoon because Mr. Osborne really was the name of my Geometry teacher and he looked just like this guy!!!  The boys in my class would throw giant spitballs made from toilet paper at the clock when Mr. Osborne wasn't looking.  The goal was to cover the entire clock face so no one could tell what time it was (we had no cellphones back then...or calculators).

Image result for far side - mr. osborne my brain is full
