Survivor Team Study Clubs

8:00am

Tuesdays and Thursdays

These before school study sessions will allow our students time to complete assignments and work individually with their teachers on an as needed basis.

There is also after school tutoring in the Media Center on Wednesdays from 3:45 to 4:30

We hope all of our students take advantage of these opportunities.

Language Arts:

In Sixth Grade Language Arts, students will continue to develop communication skills through reading, writing, listening and speaking. The focus will be on different writing styles, vocabulary building, reading comprehension (especially with non-fiction text), demonstrating the rules of grammar and learning the ability to express themselves orally. Students will use the stages of the writing process to write clear, coherent drafts and compositions throughout the year.

Social Studies:

We will be using the Geography Alive! Regions and People program for Social Studies. Students will be taught to discover information for themselves. We will reason through problems and debate issues. In addition to personal reflection, we will work in pairs and groups, using a variety of ways to experience content.
