Get to Know Coach Krysl

He and his wife Tracy were married in Hillsboro, Mo. in the summer of 2007. Their lives revolve around educating the future of America and their two kids, Henry & Loralei.  His brother, Michael, coaches football at Samford University (Alabama).  His sister, Sarah, just graduated from Northwest Missouri State and lives in San Diego, California at Camp Pendelton with her husband Clay, who is serving in the Marine Corps. His parents Danny and Donna live in Pevely, Mo. and have been happily married for 34 years!  Donna works at Buchheits in the Cash Office and Danny is a retired Local 1 Bricklayer.

Coach Krysl was born in Missouri where he attended Hillsboro High School. He attended Jefferson College in Hillsboro before transferring to Webster University in St. Louis where he graduated in 2006 with a B.A. in Secondary Education (Emphasis in Social Studies). In 2007 he taught at Ethel Hedgeman Lyle Academy (Charter) in St. Louis in the 4th grade. In 2008 he was hired at Festus Middle School to teach 8th grade American History.  In June of 2014, he finished his Masters degree is U.S. History from American Public University (West Virginia). 

Coach Krysl has coached several sports during his tenure at Festus.  He has coached four seasons of X-Country, five seasons of Track & Field, three seasons of Softball, and one season of baseball. He is currently only coaching X-Country and Track and Field for FMS.

Coach Krysl's hobbies include hunting, dog-training, coaching, reading, gardening, umpiring baseball, running, and visiting historical sites.  He is active in his church (Zion Lutheran Church of Hillsboro) and is the congregation President.

Coach K's wife Tracy, is also a teacher at Festus Middle School.  She taught freshman and sophomore English and coached softball for Oakville High School for the last 8 years and is beginning her third year at FMS.
