The University of Pittsburgh's School of Medicine has chosen on of its renowened faculty members as the next chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) efeective July 1, 2016.  Please join us in congratulating Gwen in this well deserved promotion!

Ferguson Laboratory Announces New Leadership

We are excited to announce that the Ferguson Laboratory has announce a change in its leadership.  Gwen Sowa, M.D., Ph.D. and Nam Vo, Ph.D. will now serve as the co-directors of the laboratory. Joon Lee, M.D. has alos been announced as the Clinical Director of the lab.  We are excited for the new directionsof this leadership team.

The Spine Journal & NASS 2011 Outstanding Paper Award

Congratulations to Steve Leckie and coauthors for winning The Spine Journal & NASS 2011 Outstanding Paper Award for Basic Science, for your paper, Injection of AAV2-BMP2 and AAV2-TIMP1 into the Nucleus Pulposus Slows the Course of Intervertebral Disc Degeneration by MRI, Histological, Serum Biochemical, and Biomechanical Criteria.  

Steve and co-authors will be honored at the NASS 26th Annual Meeting, November 2-5, 2011 in Chicago, IL and will be given the opportunity to present this paper from the main podium during the Outstanding Paper presentations scheduled for Thursday, November 3rd

Dr. James Kang wins the 2011 Golden Apple Award
