Services for Homeless Students

The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act ensures the rights and protections for students experiencing homelessness. It requires that all homeless children have access to a free, appropriate public education. The legislation provides for:
  • Identification and enrollment of homeless children and youth
  • Ensuring access to school and appropriate services
  • Supporting educational stability and reducing transfers between schools
Franklin Central Supervisory Union is committed to supporting all of our families. If your family is experiencing homelessness or you want to refer a student who may be experiencing homelessness, please contact a school staff member or the FCSU Homeless Liaison for support.

Home and School Coordinators are available at each school to help our families experiencing homelessness.
Families may also contact guidance counselors or any faculty or staff member with whom they feel comfortable.
