Grandparents Day Drop-In

Principal's Message

Dear Wildcat Parents and Students,

Welcome back to the 2017-2018 school year at Fairfield Magnet School for Math and Science! Let me be the first to share with you how excited all of us are to begin a new year full of rigorous instruction, engaged students, and joyful learning.  The faculty, staff and I look forward to seeing your smiling faces. We are looking forward to having students back in the classrooms and hallways filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning. Again, this year our mission is to make every child feel like he/she is a rising star in our school. Additionally, we strive to challenge each student to grow in his/her academic abilities and to be ready for the next grade level.

As principal of Palmetto’s Finest Fairfield Magnet School for Math and Science, I want all of our students to be ready for learning and engaged in their classrooms. As you send your child to their new teacher and for many to a new school, I hope that you will join me in setting high expectations for challenging and engaging instruction, for strong and regular communication from teachers and the school, and most importantly, high expectations for what your child can achieve this year because we have pledged this year at FMSMS to do whatever it takes to assure all students are successful.

Our goals are to continue to fully implement the arts in the core content areas as well as create opportunities for our students to express themselves artistically by providing more for students with a combination of academics and arts, the continuation of our efforts to use student data to drive instruction at each grade level to meet all students at their point of need and to challenge students to reach their highest potential with engaging, innovative, and rigorous practices.

Since you are your child’s first teacher, student success depends on the support of the entire community. We are committed to strengthening the collaboration between our school and the families of each student.

Mrs. Gale Whitfield.
