I am an Associate Professor in the faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt since 2009. I was born in Cairo. I have received mys B.S. degree in 1997 in the field of Mathematics and Computer Science. In 2002 I received the M.Sc. degree in Scientific Computing from Ain-Shams University in Cairo. In November 2008 I received the PhD degree from Humboldt-Universität in Berlin, Germany in Multiresolution Image Segmentation.
My research interests include: Robot Vision, Multimedia, Signal Processing, Multiresolution Analysis, and Wavelet Transform.

I have published a book and over than 25 papers in the fields of image / video processing. I have gained teaching experience and supervised different graduation projects during my work in Ain-Shams University in Cairo and Humboldt-Universität in Berlin. I used to teach the courses of mathematics for undergraduate students and course of image processing and visual servoing for post graduate students.

I was an internal researcher at the Knowledge Media Institute (KMi), Milton Keynes, UK during the summer of 2008. He was a short term post doctor at Heinz Nixdorf Institute, Paderborn, Germany in summer 2009 and summer 2010 and at Humboldt-Universität in Berlin, Germany in summer 2012, and at Berlin University of Technology, Department of Biotechnology from April to September 2014.
