What is Fayyaa International?                                                                 

Fayyaa International (FI) is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization (EIN 36-4708579) established in the State of Missouri as a Missouri Nonprofit Corporation assigned Number N01159107 on July 27, 2011.

What does "Fayyaa" mean? 

Fayyaa is an Ethiopian word that is impossible to translate with just one word of English, but essentially means social harmony and peace.

Mission Statement:

Fayyaa International's primary focus is to provide financial aid and other appropriate support to Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization (FIDO), that is an Ethiopian not-for-profit organization established in 2002.  FIDO's mission, according to its founder and present president of its Board of Directors Anbessu Tolla, "is to create sustainable community development in Ethiopia."  To that end FIDO has raised, or successfully utilized from competitive USAID and other awards and grants, some US$10 million dollars.  Its activities include improving the quality of life for HIV/AIDs patients, food distribution, malaria prevention and control, health center construction, work to end gender-based violence, etc. 

More specifically, Fayyaa International's primary focus, at least in the foreseeable future, will be to raise funds and other appropriate support for FIDO's project of constructing the "Jimma Youth Development Center" in Jimma Town, Ethiopia. This Center, when completed, will serve some 1,000 youth per year.
