Penelope Tunnell

Penelope has spent most of her career in a variety of roles in Information Technology (IT). Mid career she started management studies and action research which included a MBA and a MSc in Information Management. She wanted to understand why IT dictated how people worked and often did not meet their requirements. Two of the MSc professors, Brian Wilson and Peter Checkland gave her the answers through their introduction to Soft Systems Methodology. This methodology now guides all Penny’s research and development work.

In 2004, Penelope, her sister and brother-in-law, Mei Mei and Larry Roche, bought 155 acres next to the house where Mei Mei and Larry have lived for over 30 years in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. They have a ¾ acre hop yard in its fifth year of production, board horses and are exploring the possibilities of agriforestry.
