For the 2013-2014 school year, I am working with the wonderful staff and students in grades one and two in the areas of literacy and math.  I provide small group supplemental instruction for literacy every other day and every sixth day for mathematics.  The current model that we follow for supplemental instruction is the in-class support model, which means I support the students in class instead of taking out to another classroom.  Supplemental instruction is part of our new choice menu learning support system.  During small group instruction, students work on the reading foundational skills and basic math skills that they need in order to be prepared for the Common Core and future PARCC testing.
