Clubs & Activities

Debate:  A club for students that are interested in debating on one of our Excel teams.  This is offered as an elective called "Advanced Debate" for students who would like more time to work with their teams during the day. We also meet after school on Thursdays from 3:20-4:20 in Ms. Herring's room. 

Eco-Club:  Meets on Wednesday's during lunch/recess in Mrs. Haberman's room to discuss environmental action projects that will help our school, community and planet.  This year's main focus will be on taking steps to reduce our school's impact on climate change.

Entrepreneur Club:  Meets once a month during lunch in Mrs. Haberman's room to assist students with starting student businesses such as selling products, or running clubs, that they market to our student body. 

Interact Club:  A leadership club for students interested in discovering the power of service.  Meets on Tuesdays during  lunch/recess in Ms. Herring's room.

Peace Committee:  A club for students that are interested in organizing the middle school dances and fun nights.  Meets Thursdays during lunch/recess in Ms. Herring's room.

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS):  This service club is for students that maintain a 3.0 GPA.  Meets Fridays during lunch/recess in Mr. Cherry`s room.


National Science Bowl Team:  Meets during lunch once a week in Mrs. Haberman's room from September until competition day in February.

e-CYBERMISSION:  All students have the option of entering a science or engineering project in this competition.  Our Excel Academy team in 2017 came in 1st place in State, 1st place in our South Central region, and were named as National Finalists.  Here's a slideshow about their all expense paid, Washington DC experience.

Denver Metro Regional Science and Engineering Fair:  All students have the option of entering a science or engineering project in this competition which takes place at CU Denver in February.
