Exeter-West Greenwich Regional School District benefitted from the collaborative efforts of 6 school districts (Bristol-Warren, Central Falls, Cranston, Cumberland, Tiverton, Woonsocket) that developed Next Generation Science Standards-aligned (NGSS) units of study for Biology, Chemistry, and Physical Science. The development of the Units of Study was supported by the Rhode Island Department of Education and facilitated by science experts from the Charles A. Dana Center from the University of Texas at Austin. The Units of Study include the Next Generation Science Standards being instructed in the units as well as content bullets, essential questions, clarifying the standards, connections to English and mathematics Common Core Standards, and research to support instruction of the units. The Year at a Glance provides a one-page look at the Units of Study and the standards taught in each unit.
