TESTS: At the beginning of the school year my students will practice study skills for testing.  Throughout the year I encourage them to study with a buddy at home as well as with classmates after school to help them develop strong personal study habits.  This can be done face to face or by phone.

CLASSWORK AND PARTICIPATION:
Classwork is graded.  Student work and effort during class is one of the keys to their success.

HOMEWORK
Due dates for homework or projects are written in their planners during class.

Parents should check their child's work against their planner to support their progress.

All work is due on the due date unless a student is  absent.   The  due date will then be extended one day per absent day.  It is up to the student to turn in absent work to Mrs. Romans.

NO WORK TURNED IN.....HIGHEST SCORE STUDENT MAY RECEIVE IS 50% FOR CLASS PARTICIPATION

SPIRAL NOTEBOOKS

Each student must have a
Social Studies spiral notebook for taking notes in class.  It will be a study guide for your tests.

I provide PL and Writing notebooks for my students.

A classwork grade is given
for each notebook twice a
trimester based on the
following:

20 points-Neatness
No doodles or random
marks, no pages ripped out
or cover torn.

20 points-Completeness
All notes/work completed.
If absent, it is your responsibility to make arrangements with Mrs. Romans or a classmate to get note requirements on your own time, before school or after school.
