Hepatitis A Outbreak
September 2017
In response to the recent Hepatitis A Outbreak, the city is partnering with the American Red Cross and the Downtown San Diego Partnership to offer free Hepatitis A vaccinations for at-risk populations at San Diego County Libraries on the following days/ times:
  • Monday, September 25th 1 - 4 pm Logan Heights Branch Library, 567 S. 28th Street.
  • Tuesday, September 26th Noon - 2 pm Skyline Hills Library, 7900 Paradise Valley Rd.
  • Friday, September 29th 2 - 5 pm Valencia Park/ Malcolm X Library, 5148 Market St.
  • Monday, October 9th 1- 4 pm Logan Heights Branch Library, 567 S. 28th Street.
  • Tuesday, October 17th 2 - 5 pm San Diego Central Library, 330 Park Blvd.
  • Friday, October 20th 2 - 5 pm Valencia Park/ Malcolm X Library, 5148 Market St.
  • Tuesday, November 21st 2 - 5 pm San Diego Central Library, 330 Park Blvd.
  • Tuesday, December 19th 2 - 5 pm San Diego Central Library, 330 Park Blvd.
Since 2006 children have received the Hepatitis A vaccine in accordance with school immunization requirements.

The Honolulu Heart Study of 8000 men found that walking just two miles a day cut the risk of death almost in half. The walkers' risk of death was especially lower from cancer. Other studies have had similar findings - if you keep walking, you improve your chances of a longer and healthier life.
