What are the portfolio requirements in our Middle School and High School?

What types of work go into the math portfolio?

Demonstrating Achievement in Mathematics

Completing a math portfolio that clearly demonstrates the achievement of state standards is a graduation requirement for students at East Side Community High School.

This rigorous process gives our students the opportunity to create a clear portrait of the mathematician that they have grown to become throughout their years at East Side.

Being a member of the New York Performance Standards Consortium, our students complete a high-level Performance Based Assessment Task (PBAT) in lieu of the New York State Math Regents Exam.  This PBAT is one of our key portfolio requirements.

Our math portfolio system is a continually evolving work in progress. We would love to hear any questions, comments, or feedback you have about our work or this site.  Also, if you are interested in seeing one of our student's portfolio presentations, you are more than welcome.
