SUBJECT HALO LOCATIONS
English Language Arts
Students will be invited by their individual teachers for one-on-one and small group support.
Students are also welcome to work in individual rooms.
Learning opportunity sessions will be provided as the need arises.
Music students will be given the opportunity to receive remedial support, additional testing time and sectional supports during HALO.
Art students will be given the opportunity for additional individual studio time, as well as mini lessons during HALO.
Drama students will be given mini lessons during tutorials.
Start Time 9:00 AM-9:25 AM
Four locations will be provided with 1- 2 staff members at each location:
Library - place to work on CALM assignments
Computer Lab 104 - Students working on Calm Modules/ Assignments (eg. aquatics if not participating in pool)/Working on Intramural planning.
Large Gym - Leadership Points (work that needs to be done in and around gym)/ Activities for students focusing on skill development and game play. Set up for PE classes period 1
Room 161 - Place to work on group projects, group study sessions
School Zone used for communication of events.
Students will be invited by their individual teachers for one-on-one and small group support. HALO times may be deemed for theory and/or practical opportunities. Other learning opportunity sessions will be provided as the need arises for students not currently enrolled.
Students will be having leadership conversations about the course and their projects on Fridays from 9:00-9:25
Students in the IB programme will occasionally be invited to attend IB information sessions. These sessions will run on Tuesdays.
Students can access help with mathematics topics in rooms 530, 531, 532, 533, 534 and 535. Two teachers will be available in each of these classrooms to provide assistance with homework problems, review of concepts for exam preparation and individual tutoring. Students may also be invited by their individual teachers for one-on-one and small group support.
At certain times during the year, scheduled math tutorials will take place. Some examples of tutorial topics include preparation for IB exams and IB internal assessments, and diploma exam/final exam preparation.
There will be an opportunity for grade 11 and 12 IB students to earn CAS hours tutoring in the mornings.
Work Experience will offer sessions on the Work Experience program and module help; interview and resume advice and support, career information, and supervision as needed.
RAP will offer one-on-one support, career sessions, and supervision as needed.
Counsellors will offer one-on-one support, post-secondary and course support and information sessions, wellness sessions and life skills sessions, and supervision as needed.

Science will be offering tutorials in all science subject areas each day that HALO is offered. Two to four teachers will be available in each classroom to provide individual tutoring or review of concepts.
Languages Other Than English
Teachers will offer mini lessons which will focus on the needs of the students and there will be opportunities to practice listening, speaking, reading and writing.
The Language Lab 334 will be available for students to work on skills and projects that require technology.
Teachers will give invitations to students in order to provide support with skills that require extra practice.
