Registration for 2017-2018 is now closed.

As of April 18th, 2017, Harry Ainlay has reached its optimal enrollment limit for all grade levels. From this time forward, Harry Ainlay will only be accepting students for the 2017-18 school year  who have moved into our attendance area after April 18th, 2017. *** 3 pieces of proof of residency is needed ***

If you have already applied to Harry Ainlay, please note the following:

  • All grade 11 and 12’s who applied before April 18th have been accepted.

  • For grade 10 students that applied, we will be going to a random selection.
    • All grade10 students who reside in our attendance area AND applied before April 18th are automatically accepted and are not part of the random selection process.
    • All grade 10 students living in Edmonton that applied for French Immersion (FIM) programming AND applied before April 18th are accepted and are not part of the random selection process.
    • All grade 10 students who have a sibling who will be returning to Harry Ainlay for the 2017-18 school year AND applied before April 18th are automatically accepted and are not part of the random selection process.
If you are not included in one of these scenarios above you will be part of the random selection process.

● Random Selection Process

  • Random selection is not conducted by Harry Ainlay School. Edmonton Public Schools generates a random list of student ID numbers.
  • All students, regardless of academic standing, have an equal opportunity of being selected.
  • All students in the random selection process will be contacted by a representative from Harry Ainlay by April 25, 2017 informing them if they were successful or not in the random selection. Please do not call the school.
  • There will not be a waiting list for the 2017-18 school year.

What if I am unsuccessful at Random Selection?

  • Your attendance area school will accommodate you for the 2017-18 school year or you are eligible to apply to any school that still has available space. Please work with your administration at your current Jr. High.

*If you are applying for French Immersion programming and you have moved to

Edmonton after April 18th, please contact Mr. Yanick Jean-Proulx at 780-413-2700
