Professional Experience
Professor in computer science since 2003 (First Class Professor in 2015) at Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Cognitique de l' Institut Polytechnique de Bordeaux, research in the Cognitics and Human Engineering team, IMS laboratory (Intégration du Matériau au Système (UMR 5218).
Assistant Professor (french equivalence: "Maître de Conférences") in computer science at University of Caen Basse-Normandie from September 1998 to August 2002, research in the Vision an Image Analysis group of the Laboratory of Applied Sciences, Cherbourg, France. My research activity dealt with pattern recognition and computer vision with applications to robotics and biomedical image analysis.
Assistant Professor in computer science at University of Corse, from September 1994 to August 1998, research at Center of Modeling and Scientific Calculation, Corte, Corsica Island, France. My research activity dealt with image analysis in the remote sensing domain with application to the propagation of forest fires. In 1996 and 1997, I was responsible of a DESS in computer science (postgraduate diploma reserved to students holding a Masters Degree). In 1995, I have been elected for 3 years to the Administrative Council of the scientific component of the University and I was one of the two personal assistants of the Director..
Teaching and Research Temporary Assistant in computer science at University of Grenoble I, from September 1993 to August 1994 research at Techniques de l'Imagerie de Modélisation et de Cognition laboratory, Grenoble, France. I worked on the first stages of general computer vision systems, typically edge detection and region growing techniques for image segmentation.
