Crushed Glass

Waste Characterization

This is the crushed glass from the processing of fluorescent light bulbs.  The material should be analyzed for RCRA metals. Based information ENSAT obtained from the VDEQ, light bulb processing residuals are subject to the land ban rule and applicable Mercury treatment standards for "mercury materials containing less that 260 ppm" apply.  It is ENSAT understanding that crushed glass that does not meet the land disposal restrictions and that is not being recycled is a solid waste and must be further treated before it can be landfilled.
