Composite materials in manufacturing process
Dr. Laurent Mezeix
Dr. Mezeix's research interests are centered mainly on composite materials and lightweight structures. By an approach including manufacturing, experiments and FEA, his research focuses on: sandwich structures, composite properties, composite failure scenario, relation between composite manufacturing process and materials properties, Finite Element Analysis and structure design and optimization. 


Mathematical Models of Fin-and-Tube Heat Exchangers under Dehumidifying Conditions
This research presents the new mathematical models for evaluating the momentum, heat and mass transfer characteristics of fin-and-tube heat exchangers under dehumidifying conditions. Previously, the finite element method can be used to solve the partial differential equation from physical phenomena of fin-and-tube heat exchangers. Nevertheless, due to memory limitation all equations concerning this problem cannot be solved. 



Natural Convection Conjugated Surface Radiation in a Rectangular Cavity with a Partial Opened Wall Introduction and Benefit of the Research
Ventilation for hot parts of machines in cavities without forced convection system is depended natural convection conjugated surface radiation. The ventilation failed or achieved can be predicted by numerical simulation. Therefore, the results of the simulation are useful for machine designers.

Experimental and numerical investigations in electro-chemical milling
Electro-chemical (EC) milling of a pocket with a human-being shaped protrusion has been experimentally and numerically investigated. The feature was machined with tools having circular cross-sections. Boundary element software of the EC machining process was developed to predict the shape of the pocket.

Jetty Inspection using a Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle
Research projects emphasis control theory applied to unmanned vehicles namely AUV, ROV and UAV. The figure shows a ROV that has been under development at Burapha University. One of the main goals for using this ROV is the inspection and surveillance of underwater constructions, especially for jetty piers. Tests were carried out at REPCO, Map-Ta-Phut port, Rayong. Currently we are developing GNC applied to the vehicle.

Impact response of hemp fiber tube
Natural fibers such as hemp and flax are used as a reinforcing material for polymers. Natural fibers need lower processing energy and have energy and carbon-credit recoveries at the end of their life. Strength and modulus of natural fiber composites are comparable to synthetic fiber composite. Synthetic fiber will be substituted by natural fiber in some applications such as energy absorption structure.

การศึกษาตัวแปรที่มีผลการทบต่อการอบแห้งอาหารและเมล็ดพันธุ์พืช
การอบแห้งเมล็ดพืชคือการใช้ความร้อนแฝงในการระเหยน้ำที่อยู่ภายในอาหารและเมล็ดพันธุ์พืช การใช้ความร้อนที่น้อยเกินไปก็จะทำให้ใช้ระยะเวลายาวนานในการอบแห้ง ตรงข้ามถ้าใช้ความร้อนที่สูงเกินไปจะทำให้ผลิตภัณฑ์ถูกเผาไหม้จนเปลี่ยนสี กระทบต่อการบริโภคและการจำหน่าย ตลอดจนกระทบต่อการสิ้นเปลืองพลังงานด้วย ดังนั้นจึงต้องทำการศึกษาตัวแปรที่มีผลการทบต่อการอบแห้งอาหารและเมล็ดพันธุ์พืช ดังกล่าวข้างต้น
