East Maine District 63 Technology Task Force

Technology pervades every aspect of our lives -- and mastering 21st-century skills helps students in school and for the rest of their lives. As part of its commitment to student success, District 63 has launched an initiative to provide one-to-one devices (chromebooks) to students in targeted grades.

Any such initiative brings with it many considerations. Which grades would benefit most? What are the costs and are they sustainable? How will the District manage damage and replacement? Careful planning is essential.

During the spring of 2016, a group of Gemini teachers and students will pilot the use of one-to-one chromebooks.

The District's Technology Task Force (see link above for members), comprising teachers from all seven schools, as well as administrators, a PTO parent representative, and a Board member, will help guide the process.

This site has been created primarily for committee members to provide easy access to materials and information. It is viewable by East Maine District 63 staff and the general public. Please contact the Education Service Center of East Maine School District 63 if you have any questions or problems with accessing the documents or materials on this site.
