Welcome to Fifth Grade

Mrs. Gehring's Class

This year, I will strive to challenge your child and create meaningful learning experiences. I will hold them accountable for their work and behaviors in class, and support them in any way to make it a successful year. Natalia Strom, Sydney Ryan, and I have been working hard to prepare for this exciting year. We are definitely a fifth grade team, as we will be seeing your children equally. Mrs. Strom will be teaching ELA, Mrs. Ryan will be teaching Science and Social Studies, while I will be teaching. We are all here to support you and your child in any way possible!

5th grade is a big year full of growing academically, socially, physically, and emotionally. I am fully committed to doing everything in my power to guide your child in having a positive, successful year.

In addition, please feel free to contact me anytime! The best ways to reach me are by phone before or after school hours, or by email. My contact information is listed below.

About Me

This is my 12th year at Emmons School. I have been both a third and fifth grade teacher. I love being a part of the Emmons community! When I am not teaching I spend time with my family including my husband and two sons Chatham (10 years old) and Beckett (8 years old). I have a Pug/Beagle mix we call "Pug Pug." I have degrees from Iowa State University (GO CYCLONES), University of Cincinnati, and Roosevelt University. As a result, I have had the good fortune of living in a few different states including Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, and Washington D.C. In my non-Emmons time, I also enjoy teaching at a dance studio and choreographing for a winterguard team. I'm a die-hard Cyclones, White Sox, Blackhawks, and gymnastics fan. My family and I love to spend time outdoors hiking and playing. I love coffee

, chocolate, and all things sweet almost as much as I love teaching. I'm so excited to meet and learn new things about each and every one of my students!
