About Me

Welcome to 1st Grade!!!

(be sure to check out our weekly hoots for the updates of the week!)

Hi! Welcome to a fun and new school year! Thank you for joining me on this exciting third year of my teaching career. My name is Rebecca Sheade, and I am your child's teacher for the 2015-2016 school year. I graduated in 2013 from Illinois State University where I was involved in their Professional Development School (PDS) program. Through this program, I was able to student teach for the entire 2012-2013 school year. For the last 12 years, I have been working with children ages 3-7 at my local park district. I love working with the primary grades and was ecstatic to learn that I would be the new 1st grade teacher here at Emmons two years ago.

I live in Buffalo Grove, which is about 40 min. away from Antioch. I currently live with my parents and pet bunny rabbit, Cupcake, while I finish graduate school through Concordia University Chicago. I have always enjoyed dance, crafting, baking, traveling, and waterskiing on our family boat (right here in Antioch!).

I look forward to our year ahead! Summer has come and gone quickly, but autumn is my favorite time of the year! Time sure does fly with the little ones, so I hope to make this the best possible experience for your child!

*Please be sure to check out the "Weekly Hoots" section of our website each week. This is section will summarize the activities we did in school that week.*

Personal Message

Teachers have many jobs, but the most important one is to provide love and comfort for their students. I believe that true learning cannot occur without a safe and loving learning environment. I strive to create this for my students so that they grow with confidence. It is my duty as their teacher to support them in any and every way that I can in order to prepare them academically, socially, and emotionally for the bright and beautiful future ahead of them!
