Welcome and thank you for visiting our classroom site! I'm Mrs. Festa and I am very delighted to be a part of the Emerson family, and to teach Second Grade! Out of my 19 years teaching, 17 have been In Emerson! I truly enjoy being in the classroom and getting to know all of the children. Our school year will be filled with new and exciting discoveries.
A bit about me...I graduated from Montclair State University with a BA degree in Communication Studies but I knew my heart was meant to be in teaching. I went back to school at William Paterson University for my Post-Baccalaureate in Elementary Education. I earned my Master's Degree in Teaching there as well. I am certified in Orton Gillingham. Learning never ends I tell ya! I just received my MA+32.
Your children are very important and special to me. Our classroom is known as "The Festa Family!" We work hard from day one focusing on values that can help everyone get to know, understand, and care for one another. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to e-mail me or simply send in a note with your child. I will respond to your e-mail within 24 hours.
***Please do not send any peanuts, nuts, peanut butter or foods containing nuts or peanut butter to be eaten as snacks in the classroom. If your child brings in a snack containing any nut products, it will be sent home and a replacement snack will be provided. We trust that you understand how deeply important it is to respect and adhere to these guidelines. If throughout the course of the year you have any questions or concerns about food-allergy related issues, please do not hesitate to contact us. ***
