Membership Drive '17

The Executive Committee and your VCCS colleagues welcome you to the Virginia Community Colleges Association for 2016-2017.  The VCCA is the longest serving professional development venue in the VCCS

50-year history and it provides many excellent opportunities for networking and new learning experiences. Nowhere else can you gather with others who believe as you do, who believe in the mission of the community colleges in Virginia, and who seek to gain new perspectives in their professional development.

For a $25 membership fee a VCCA member will have the opportunity to participate in professional growth and development activities offered at the annual conference as well as at regional workshops offered through the six commissions. The six commissions are Black Concerns, Faculty & Instructional Affairs, Learning Resources, Public Relations & Publications, Student Services and Support Staff.  Along with the annual conference, individual commission activities and networking, VCCA showcases outstanding faculty, staff and media annually.

We are having a membership contest that starts now through June 16th. Be one of the FIRST to join the VCCA or renew your membership and your name will be entered in a drawing for $50! Please give your membership forms and check for $25 to your college contact to be mailed to our treasurer. College Contacts who renew AND increase their paid memberships will also be entered into a drawing for $100.

The 2017 annual conference theme is Oh, The Places We Have Been. This year’s conference will find the VCCA at the Wyndham Virginia Crossings Hotel and Conference Center in Glen Allen.  The Wyndham Virginia Crossings Hotel and Conference Center offers many recreational options including a well-equipped fitness center, outdoor pool and hot tub, sand volleyball, and an 18 hole, Joe Lee designed championship golf course. The beautiful Colonial architecture, quaint garden setting, superb dining, quality golf, and exceptional service will provide a comfortable environment.

Our chancellor, Dr. Glenn DuBois, is supportive of annual conference attendance and encourages all college presidents to do the same.

  • Mark your calendar for the 35th annual VCCA Annual Conference: September 27th – 29th.
  • Look for early registration information—rooms will be limited!
  • Consider requesting registration fees from this year’s tight budget by submitting a request for Professional Development from your college.
