We have completed all of our testing and are very satisfied with our prototype and all that is left to do is the final report and presentation.

With the prototype constructed we began running all of our tests set out in the testing and evaluation plan. These tests include: operational steps, charge time, run time, max chair weight and number of cycles.

March 13th-April 20th

We have spent the past few weeks following our design and constructing the system, below are some pictures of the process.  There were a few set back during this stage such as not enough material being ordered, brackets needing relocation, and one member needed to be strengthened.  All things considered we executed our design very well with only minor adjustments.

With the start of spring quarter we are ordering all the parts and raw materials that we will need to build our system.

There is now a link to the free download of eDrawings, under references on the left tool bar.  If you would like to view our engineereing drawings and a 3-D model of the MIA System Assembly and do not have Soildworks you will need to download this free software.

Since our design work is done and our budget is finished we are spending this week to work on the presentation and report.  Also making sure the this web portal is up to date.

From our meetings last week we determined that the control system and lock release system were not fully design so we spent this week making a few last models and drwaings and added any last materials to our budget.

This week we reviewed all the design drawings. making sure all dimensions were correct, we also double checked our budget to maximize our funding.

This week we determined all the manufacturing specs for all of our custom parts.  Also we have done all the reaserch in town and on the internet to finalize our budget.

This week we spent our time taking the custom components that we designed in Solidworks and making detailed engineering drawings for each part.   An example is shown below.  Next week we will focus on finalizing the budget and specifying the manufacturing spec for our system.
