Welcome to the Forensic/Sex Research Lab at the University of Arizona!

The Forensic/Sex Research Lab, headed by Judith V. Becker, Ph.D., is interested broadly in the application of psychology to a legal context.  In particular, this lab specializes in the psychology of atypical, troublesome, and illegal sexual behaviors in terms of both perpetration and victimization.  We are interested in the etiology, assessment, treatment, and prevention of sex offending.  Our projects have broadly examined competency, juvenile sex offending, causal theories of sex offending, psychopathy, sexting, interventions for aggressive sexual behavior, hypersexuality, female sex offenders, and much more.  The main goal of the lab is to add to the sum of knowledge we have about the psychology of illegal sexual behaviors in order to guide the creation of empirical and well-reasoned intervention and prevention efforts.

Please note that we are no longer accepting applications for research assistants for Spring 2015.  If you are interested in being an RA for the Fall 2015 semester, you may submit an application beginning in May.
