Meet Our Writing Consultants

Our writing consultants are current full-time undergraduate students from a variety of majors.  Read on to learn a bit about our writing consultants for the 2016-2017 academic year.  All writing consultants are trained and ready to help you with any writing assignment for any course.  If you are interested in becoming a writing consultant, watch for ads posted on the Writing Center website and Facebook page in the spring.  

The Writing Consultants




Tom Bragg '17 is a psychology and business major at Elmira College. He is the President of Colleges Against Cancer and the Public Relations chair for Relay for Life. He is also a member of Orchesis, Enactus, Phi Eta Sigma, and Psi Chi. Tom loves cats and fashion. On any given day, you can find him making angsty art and listening to music that no one else has ever heard of.







Nicole Derosia '17 is a biology major with a focus in pre-med. She is an Overnight Host as well as an EC Ambassador. Nicole is a member of Orchesis, Circle K, Pre-Health Club, Silent Voices, and is the Vice President of the EC Tap Ensemble. In her free time, she enjoys reading, painting awesome nail designs, and discovering new tap steps.









Thomas Finnigan III ’18
is an economics and political science double major intending to go to law school after graduating from Elmira. In addition to being a writing consultant, Thomas is a member of Gold Key Society, the Elmira College Pre-Law Society, and Judicial Board. During his free time, Thomas enjoys running, playing the drums, reading, and watching the New England Patriots.







Michael Girard '17 is a double major in economics and English with a Spanish minor at Elmira College. He is a captain of the men's soccer team, a singer in A1 and the Sauce, a member of Phi Eta Sigma, and a Phi Beta Kappa prize winner. Several of his fiction works have been published in Sibyl. Michael has also traveled to Peru during term III and to Spain to teach English. The only free time he has is that which he makes by procrastinating, during which he plays obscene amounts of FIFA.






Sara Kazerouni '18 is a nursing major with a minor in anthropology at Elmira College. She is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Board. She is also a member of the Elmira College women's soccer team. In the rare occurrence of free time, she enjoys playing more soccer and traveling.








Rachel Leben '19 is an English literature and theatre double major. She participates in the theatre club on campus and enjoys attending plays and musicals whenever she can.






Anna Liebelt '19
is a psychology major at Elmira College with plans to attend grad school after she graduates. In addition to being a writing consultant, Anna is also an Orientation Leader on campus, an active member of the Ski Club, the Community Kitchen chair for Circle K, and has played saxophone in the EC Ensemble. She enjoys skiing, boating, traveling, and, of course, Starbucks.





McKayla Sluga '17 is a history and American studies double major with a minor in philosophy. She is the President of Phi Alpha Theta and a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Eta Sigma, and the Honors Program. Additionally, she has presented research papers at the Phi Alpha Theta Regional Conference and the SUNY Oneonta Undergraduate Philosophy Conference. She also participates in the EC Concert Ensemble, the JV basketball team, and is an Orientation Leader.







Kerri Wertman '17 is a senior nursing major from Lockport, NY, which is right outside of Buffalo.  She plays varsity women's soccer and is a also a Resident Assistant at Elmira College.
