Engineering Heritage Award

The Engineering Heritage Awards were established in 1984 to celebrate excellence in mechanical engineering. The unique strengths of the Award enable both the Institution and the mechanical engineering profession to benefit through increasing public awareness of engineering, past and present.

The Award recognises artefacts, locations, collections and landmarks of significant mechanical engineering importance, many of which have been previously recognised under the Engineering Heritage Hallmark Scheme.

AIA - Association for Industrial Archaeology

The AIA promotes the study, preservation and presentation of Britain's industrial 

Presidents's Award

This Award is given each year to a site or monument, which is visited by delegates during Association conferences. The Award is presented to managers who, in the opinion of the President and his advisers, achieve a high standard in interpreting to the public a monument, site or project of industrial archaeological significance. The site or monument receives a plaque and details of the winning scheme are reported in the Association's publications.

North West in Bloom 2011

Britain in Bloom is one of the longest running and well known environmental competitions in the United Kingdom. North West in Bloom is the voluntary regional organisation that runs the competition in Lancashire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside.
