Eagle Scout Projects


 

KYLE DUNSHEE (Spring/Summer 2008)

For his Eagle Scout Project, Kyle Dunshee collected new and gently used books for Eliza's Library.  He collected 2,100 books!  He exceeded his goal of 1,000 books! 

Kyle donated his books to the following places:

4th Streeet Clinic- Salt Lake City
Road Home Shelter- Salt Lake City
Bountiful Food Pantry- Bountiful
Davis County Mental Health Dept.- Children's Division- Kaysville
Safe Harbor Women's Shelter- Kaysville
Dr. Douglas Coombs Office- Bountiful
Bountiful Dermatology Office- Bountiful

Dr. Kenneth Schwab Office- Bountiful
Lakeview Hospital E.R. Waiting Room- Bountiful

SCOTT DRAPER (Spring/Summer 2008)

Scott was a recipient of a $500 grant through the National Education Association's Youth Leaders for Literacy Contest, part of America's Global Youth Service Days, April 25-27, 2008.

Scott used his grant money to buy some much needed child-sized chairs, tables, bookcases and rugs, along with books both in English and Spanish for Eliza's Library.  The goal of the project is to further promote literacy during doctor visits- part of the Reach Out and Read national model.

SCOTT TORGESON (Summer 2008)

Scott Torgeson completed his Eagle Project for Eliza's Library in September 2008.  He collected 502 books, which he contributed to Eliza's Library.

JAKE HILLE (Fall 2008)

Jake collected 770 books, which he donated to Eliza's Library.  We appreciate everybody who supported Jake in his project.

Winter 2010

Dylan collected over 1,200 books and modified a shelf to make a functional bookshelf for the Youth Resource Center (part of Volunteers of America) in Salt Lake.
