Quest Guide

The Gamestar Mechanic Quests are a self-paced game design curriculum for players told through motion comics and playable games.   The first Quest follows the pedagogy described in the "Getting Started" Lesson Sequence and is divided into five "Episodes" which each explore a game design topic through a series of Play, Fix, and Build "Missions".  Students playing through the first Quest will:
  • learn the core elements of game design
  • balance game systems
  • effectively iterate on game designs
    The Second and Third (Premium) Quests dive deeper into individual topics in a game design curriculum.

This Quest Guide for Teachers provides a summary of the story, what you learn, the missions, and what you earn through the Quest. The three main quests are:
