About us:
The Dubuque AWANA clubs are sponsored in a partnership of Arbor Oaks Bible Chapel and Anchor Community Church. Our leaders are adults from these and other evangelical churches in the area well as many of the fine Emmaus Bible College students that have gone through leadership training.
The schedule is as follows:
Each night begins with a flag ceremony and prayer, followed by games or handbook time, where we split up the Sparks and T&T into separate rooms. Handbook time is when clubbers recite verses they have memorized over the previous week, which are listed in their grade-level handbook. The leaders that listen to verses also discuss the meaning of what they are memorizing, and help them clearly understand the gospel.
Singing and Lesson time follows, with exciting Bible stories to teach and inspire our clubbers to learn, trust, and follow God's instructions. These lessons are taught by capable leaders and adult volunteers.
Just before parents arrive to pick up their children, we announce the winning team from the games, whose points include the results of team-members handbook time. We also hand out awards earned by completing handbook sections.
Learn more about us in our Parent's Handbook. You may also be interested in our Leaders Handbook.
Do you want to work with kids? You are welcome to come observe a club night, and if you are interested, we can find a way for you to help in this ministry!
