Program Goals & Objectives

  • To help students realize their individual capabilities, enhance self-concept, expand personal limits, and accept the challenges to master and control fear.
  • To develop in students a feeling of harmony between man and his environment.
  • To foster in students the acceptance of civic responsibility by active participation.
  • To help students break down barriers which give rise to human alienation and recognize individual responsibility in group living situations.
  • To give students the opportunity to acquire knowledge in academic areas through direct learning experiences.
  • To encourage awareness and full appreciation of beauty in one’s environment.
  • To increase the physical fitness of students.
  • To teach and model exemplary outdoor living skills, safety, wilderness ethics and etiquette.
