Mrs. Kyla Madonna-Kenney, who has been a church musician for over thirty years and a music director since 2011, graduated with a Music Education degree from Rhode Island College. Kyla had continued taking classes and vocal lessons since graduating. After teaching junior high chorus and elementary band for nine years in the Warwick school system, Kyla decided to stop teaching in the schools in order to be home with her two beautiful children while continuing to teach private lessons, as she has done for over thirty years. Even then, she continued to work professionally by performing in various orchestras throughout the state, including Bel Canto and Ocean State Light Opera. Sixteen years ago, Kyla began working as vocal director for local High Schools including East Greenwich High School and Prout, working on shows such as Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof, Annie, High School Musical, Cinderella, Legally Blonde, Honk, The Secret Garden, and Grease. Kyla loves bringing contemporary Christian music into the church. She has directed children's choirs, an all women's choir, a generations choir, adult choirs, a contemporary band and choir, as well as a resurrection choir.
