ITComm Cabinet

In October 2014, Cathy McVey and Carlyn Chatfield were recruited as new co-leaders for the ITComm group, following seven years of excellent leadership by Lisa Trubitt and Mur Murchane.  The group's large membership and the abundance of talented leaders led to the creation of a group of mentors called the ITComm Cabinet.  The ITComm Cabinet is committed to retaining a strong and active membership, and growing leaders from within.  ITComm Cabinet member are selected from active volunteers (see Leadership Development signup sheet).

Leadership Development within the IT Communicators group is managed through volunteer roles.  To join the Leadership Development project, sign up on the 2014 Google Doc.

Virtual Coffee Shop

The one hour Virtual Coffee Shop meetings are being revamped in fall 2014. All ITCOMM professionals are welcome to participate. Archives of the first four years of coffee shop meetings can be found in the Virtual Coffee Shop link below.

  • Virtual Coffee Shop topics, previous presentations and notes
  • Design Clinic - similar to the hour long virtual coffee shop discussions, but focused on a specific design challenge such as a web site or project management communications for a targeted campaign.  One team will give a brief presentation on the design challenge, followed by time spent discussing a volunteer's site or campaign.  The Design Clinic concludes with a Q&A that is open to the full audience.  The goal for the Design Clinics is to model one-on-one consultation or mentoring, part of the leadership development plans for the ITComm constituent group.  Use the Leadership Development Google Doc to sign up to mentor or be mentored.
