Science Week 17-21 August

Science Week is celebrated each year in Australia. Science encompasses many different areas- biological, physical, chemical, computer and environmental just to name a few! Science has the capacity to change our lives and can lead to many job opportunities in the future. Science is a subject loved by many students as it is hands on, fun and provides lots of points of discussion.

While it will be a very different type of Science Week celebration this year in Victoria, I encourage all families to complete a science activity in their home during Science Week. Our home learning hub has many activities and virtual learning tours you can do:

Science Works also has some great activities on their website:

If you are brave you might like to do a simple science experiment together. Here are a couple of websites for ideas. Remember to supervise your children doing these so they are safe!

Sydney Science Trail is a free online quest jam-packed with interactive games, live-streamed talks, explosive science shows and virtual tours from world-class scientists. Your mission is to uncover all the fascinating science hidden in each world. Don’t forget to collect your unique badges by completing each quiz. A special surprise awaits if you collect all five badges!
